Day 24: Pismo Beach, CA to Buellton, CA

All inland today & not the most scenic. Trucks, dust & potholes through Santa Maria & Guadalupe. Much better follows through Michael Jackson wine country. Los Olivos is a must-stop fur a late lunch, and the Danish village of Solvang is a short side trip for some before our final destination in Buellton, famous for it's Anderson's Split Pea Soup.

We wanted clear and we got it, accompanied by a large dose of COLD (that's Divney's "I'm-too-cold-to-move" look)

Pretty much the view all the way to Santa Maria

I'm guessing there isn't a Guadalupe Chop Suey in Chicago

This is where I turn right. Send a search party if I don't make it to Buellton

Heck, tons of people cycle from Canada to Mexico. Why not be the first to bike 1,550 miles for split pea soup?

I've always thought stakes are a waste of time. You almost never really need them and for those rare occasions when the wind is howling, something like as picnic table will do the trick.

I was pretty sure that today had the widest temperature variation in my 24 days of riding, but WHOA!!

One wheeled cyclists. Three wheeled cyclists. It's hard to keep up. I'll call Congress though and ask them to fund the sun. Ride on!

Boy, that GPS tracker certainly seemed to park itself yesterday at the Mexican restaurant for a while. FYI - Bill Bloxom and I just negotiated a small wager on the Stanford/Washington game this Saturday and it involves the loser making a contribution to your ride.
