Prepping for a Long, Wet Day 3

Really!?  One day of sun is all I get?!  Forecast says its going to be raining here by midnight and then raining from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Looks like scattered rain in Westport, my 79-mile-away destination.  That's too long of a day to try and wait it out.  For sure if it's not raining when I get up, I'm leaving.  Getting everything ready tonight so I can leave as soon as I want to in the morning. That probably means much less blogging throughout the day.

Well, I missed a day and could not believe you crashed.... well kind of. I sure it would have been better if you swerved to avoid a bear or some other wild animal. Beautiful country up there and seem like real good people as well!! Glad you god some big help when you needed it.

Hope you don't get too soaked. Take care. Dave

Since I grew up in Seattle, I feel its important that I tell you this now...

it rains. A lot.

When its not raining...the forecast is to expect rain shortly.

Now, now, Jeff is on the Olympic Peninsula where sunny days are not uncommon. But then again, he is heading to the west side of the Peninsula where it does rain. A lot. Good luck Jeff.

On August 14, 2013, I'm flying to Vancouver, British Columbia and beginning a 29-day, 1,880-mile bike ride from Canada to Mexico.

On this page you'll find random ramblings before, during, and after my trek down the Pacific Coast. Prior to BikeTheCoast13, I'll blog about my prep, training, and thoughts from the road.
While visiting my blog, I hope you'll offer comments, suggests, and words of encouragement.  I'm going to need all the help I can get!

For those who don't know me or my inspiration, please take a moment to check out the Why Now? tab to meet my daughter Lindsey and find out how I got here.

If this site helps or inspires you in any way, I hope you'll consider making a small donation to the cause.
